The Importance of Breathing

Have you ever noticed that when you learn a new self help technique or start something new, there is so much focus on breathing. From meditation, to relaxation, yoga and the ret rest breathing is the first step to becoming a new you. Breathing is great fo releasing tension and stress. Conciously breathing for any amount of time doesn't just help you mentally but it also helps you physically. That's right, even in excersie there is major focus on breathing its one of the most useful resources we have to help ourselves.

Why is breathing so good for us??

Well let me stae the obvious, Breathe is life and without breathe there is only death. Breathing is beautiful system. After an analysis, scientists found that the air we inhale shows that air was composed of 20.95% oxygen, 0.05% carbon dioxide, and 79% nitrogen; exhaled air was composed of 16.5% oxygen, 4.0% carbon dioxide and 79.5% nitrogen. There are millions of tiny air sacs in your lungs which blood flows around. On inhaling, oxygen moves from higher pressure to lower pressure in the red blood cells. This blood transports the oxygen to the body cells. Oxygen and nourishment from the food we eat are now in liquid form this hands is handed over to the tissues and the cells replace it with their waste which is carbon dioxide. This is then returned to the air sacs and exhaled.

Peoplpe breathe unconciously from the day they are born , so why conciously breath? The thing is as human beings we are equipped for uncontrolled and controlled breathing naturally. There are no lessons on how to breathe properly we wing it from birth. So this is the reason why so many sports and self help techniques focus on concious breathing. We take breathing for granted. But, Breathing offers many therapuetic advantages. By conciously breathing we begin to work on our nervous system and you begin to breathe correctly. Getting better quality air.

The nervous system and brain are very complex and sensitive. If breathing is the key to their vitality then we should excercise these more. If the nervous system is unhealthy then this could cause neurological problems, increase stress and anxiety. If you think about every single thing you do is a command that is sent from the brain down your spinal cord and central nervous system, this is going to take it's toll over years. This is why it is important to maintain a healthy central nervous system.

The Brain actually need more oxygen than any other organ in the body. Lack of oxygen can cause you to become senile and vague. We can go without food for weeks and water for days. But without oxygen we would die in a few minutes.
